ARSHA
JONES

Co-Founder and CEO, Capital City

Capital City®, the beloved D.C.-born condiment brand, is proud to announce its partnership with Shop Made Brands during the inaugural Maker Summit, a first-of-its-kind event celebrating D.C.’s thriving maker and creative community.

As part of this partnership, Capital City will award a $5,000 grant to one exceptional local small business to help them grow and scale their operations. This grant is part of a new annual commitment from Capital City, reinforcing its deep roots in the District and its dedication to nurturing emerging entrepreneurs.

“Organizations like Shop Made (in DC)  were fundamental to Capital City when we started 14 years ago,” said Arsha Jones, CEO and co-founder of Capital City. “They gave us space to be seen, to sell, and to connect with our community. It’s an honor to now pay it forward and give back to the ecosystem that helped build us.”

Shop Made DC, known for spotlighting D.C.-based makers and creatives, has long been a pillar in supporting local entrepreneurship. Now with makers in DC, VA and MD, the brand’s Maker Summit represents a powerful milestone in that journey—offering workshops, panels, and networking for artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs looking to build sustainable businesses in the region.

Both Capital City and Shop Made share a legacy powered by community support. This grant represents not only a financial investment but a continued commitment to celebrating and sustaining D.C.’s unique creative economy.
